The Bracellum Charm (Pretzel)
The Bracellum Charm (Pretzel)
Bracellum is Latin for "little arms" or a warm embrace, which translates perfectly to what I wanted the pretzel to stand for when I designed it.
I sculpted the Bracellum charm as a tribute to the beautiful, messy reality of motherhood. To me, the twist of a pretzel is the perfect metaphor for a mom's embrace. It is that feeling of holding everything together even when life feels a little tangled.
I wanted to include this in the spring collection because it represents the way our lives as artists and mothers are so closely intertwined. It is a reminder of the strength it takes to balance it all and the way we weave our love into every single day. This piece has a nice, solid feel to it, just like the actual weight of those two boys I carry around with me. It is a little piece of recognition for the work you do and the love you give, polished up bright to be your new everyday staple.
