Most people see the knot; I see the tension required to get it there.
Sculpting the Nodus Ring is a process of forcing two separate paths into one permanent bind. It is often ungraceful and difficult, requiring the metal clay to be pulled to its absolute limit before it finally holds.
I create these because we all have those "knot" moments—the experiences of grief and trauma that are hard to weave together, but ultimately become the strongest parts of who we are. This ring serves as a solid reminder that the hardest bonds are the ones that never slip.
The Craft
Derived from the Latin for a sacred bond, this is a heavyweight, 9-gram sculpture of solid metal. Each piece is hand-sculpted from raw bronze or silver clay, fired into a permanent artifact that carries the physical and emotional weight of its meaning.
Details:
• Material: Solid Bronze or .999 Fine Silver (not plated).
• Weight: Approximately 9 grams of solid metal.
• Finish: Hand-polished to a soft, heirloom glow.
Note from the Artist:
Each piece is hand-sculpted and fired to order in my Connecticut studio. Because I build these by hand to ensure the structural integrity of every knot, please allow 10–14 days for your artifact to be crafted and shipped.
